Three years after its IPO, JSL has reaped the rewards of acquisitions, increased efficiency and renegotiated contracts to increase its annual profit by 80%<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since going public in the third quarter of\u00a02020<\/strong>, a\u00a0road transport and logistics company JSL<\/strong>\u00a0promised accelerated growth regardless of Brazil's macroeconomic road conditions.\u00a0Pandemic<\/strong>\u00a0e\u00a0double-digit interest<\/strong>\u00a0were not enough to stop the company. \"I like to make an analogy with racing, because I'm a driver,\" he says\u00a0Ramon Alcaraz<\/strong>president of\u00a0JSL<\/strong>. \"When it rains and the track gets wet, I don't have to race like I do on a dry track, I just have to race better than my competitors in that scenario.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the logic of being prepared for any situation, the company was guided by the following principles\u00a0contract review<\/strong>,\u00a0cost reduction<\/strong>\u00a0and the search for more\u00a0efficiency<\/strong>. One of the measures was a\u00a0cost reduction plan<\/strong>which focused on the best use of\u00a0inputs, fuel and tires<\/strong>. The company has also invested in the purchase of\u00a0more efficient vehicles<\/strong>\u00a0and bet on\u00a0technology to make routes more advantageous<\/strong>with less travel time at less cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The result was a net profit of 351.7 million reais<\/strong> in 2023<\/strong>, high 81%<\/strong> compared to the previous year. The figures are also explained by the search for diversification<\/strong>, which last year acquired IC Transportes<\/strong>, a company specializing in transportation of dangerous goods<\/strong>such as fuels<\/strong> e grains<\/strong>, and FSJ Logistics<\/strong>, which works with e-commerce<\/strong> and derivatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In the last year, the\u00a0JSL<\/strong>\u00a0had a good volume of loads of\u00a0pulp and paper, mining, food, e-commerce and automotive<\/strong>. For the future, the company promises to increase its\u00a0market share<\/strong>, which today is in\u00a03%<\/strong>. \"Despite its size, the\u00a0JSL<\/strong>\u00a0there is still an almost infinite path to explore,\" he says\u00a0Alcaraz<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
