Simpar invests in Latin America's first sustainable CDB

Company and its subsidiaries allocate R$ 50 million to a portfolio of assets aimed at social and environmental benefits

São Paulo, February 2022.

. SIMPAR (SIMH3) has decided to invest in the first sustainable CDB developed in Brazil. The product, launched by BTG Pactual (BPAC11), Latin America's largest investment bank, will receive contributions from Simpar and its seven subsidiaries - JSL (JSLG3), Movida (MOVI3), Vamos (VAMO3), CS Brasil and Original.

The holding company and its subsidiaries invested R$50 million in the Sustainable CDB. With the capture of sustainable deposits directed to various assets with a social and environmental impact, the portfolio has a yield similar to a traditional CDB. "The purpose of this CDB is to connect investors to sustainable investment opportunities in Latin America and to finance transactions that promote the UN's Sustainable Development Goals (2030 agenda)," says Denys Ferrez, CFO of the company. "We have sustainability as a guideline in our business and investment strategy, with a focus on building an ESG agenda," says Ferrez. "Taking part in this important moment for the sustainable finance market in Latin America is a way of generating even more positive impact through our business," he said.

Since 2014, the company has been part of the UN Global Compact and was the first company in its sector in the world to issue a Sustainability-Linked Bond (January/21). With a robust emissions management program and a commitment to identifying challenges and opportunities to reduce impacts in the sectors in which it operates, the SIMPAR and its businesses are committed to reducing the intensity of their emissions.

The only holding company in the logistics and transportation sector to be included in B3's ISE Portfolio in the 2021/2022 cycle. SIMPAR stood out in important sustainability indexes such as: Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA); classified in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) with an evaluation above the average of the transportation and logistics sector in the world and, together with the subsidiaries JSL, Vamos, CS Brasil, Movida and Original, received the Gold Seal with recognition of the high level of qualification of its corporate inventory - the highest level of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, which quantifies Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

. SIMPAR and its companies have sustainability committees linked to the Board of Directors and with independent members dedicated to continuously monitoring social and environmental actions and indicators, as well as promoting the company's participation in relevant agendas on the subject.
