On March 7, 2024, we held our special event in honor of the women who transform the job market and make a difference in the world at the SIMPAR social space.
The main theme of the debates was discussions on the main challenges, opportunities, developments and future paths in women's careers, with the presence of three external guests: Cristiana Pipponzi, who serves as a board member of Raia Drogasil and Banco Santander Brasil; Jandaraci Araujo, co-founder of Conselheiras 101 - a program aimed at including black and indigenous women on boards of directors and is a board member of Women in Leadership in Latin America (WILL), an NGO focused on female empowerment; Thais Pegoraro, an entrepreneur and executive, partner at EXEC, board member of the Women In Tech Chapter Brazil, Volpi.com and member of the 30% Club International, a project supported by Bloomberg to increase the number of women on Boards of Directors.
Together with these guests, Nossa Gente represented SIMPAR: Lucenir Moreira, who has been with our Group for 3 years, working at JSL as the Productivity and Document Management Coordinator for the Aggregates; Lais Vieira, who has a degree in Medicine, joined SIMPAR in 2019 and today works as an Occupational Physician at the ADM Headquarters Medical Clinic in Mogi das Cruzes (SP) and Marta Lima, who has been part of our Group since 2015, as a Leasing Agent at the Movida store in Ribeirão Preto (SP).
During the discussion, each of the women shared a little about their personal and professional careers, highlighting their main lessons learned, experiences gained and challenges faced. In addition to their achievements and the positions they hold today, they also spoke about their journey of growth, which has been made up of many ups and downs, and how these events have motivated them to continue seeking their places in the job market on a daily basis.
In addition to the presentation, the guests also answered some questions posed by those present at the event. The topics ranged from future paths for women in the corporate world, mental health, personal motivations, the importance of support from other people to achieve leadership and even the importance of bringing men into the conversation too, so that everyone can build a better tomorrow.
Finally, maternity and the care economy were also topics discussed at the event and, to further strengthen these stories, here at SIMPAR we promote the welcoming and support of these women during the period of pregnancy and leave, as well as encouraging the development and individual growth of our employees.
Our Group believes that we are managing to continuously evolve in terms of diversity and inclusion, alongside our Values, to increasingly increase the number of women in leadership positions and offer equal opportunities to all, based on solid transformations that are strengthened by expressive results. In the last two years at SIMPAR, we have seen an increase of 90% of women in management positions.
