Julio Simões Institute launches finance program for truck drivers

São Paulo, August 2024.

Developed to help truck drivers better manage their finances, the program offers expert guidance on managing freight money, truck maintenance and purchasing inputs

The Julio Simões Institute, the social arm of the SIMPAR Group, has announced the launch of "Direção Certa", a program dedicated to financial education for self-employed drivers. Developed to help truck drivers better manage their finances, the program offers specialized guidance on managing freight money, truck maintenance, and the acquisition of inputs. The aim is to provide tools that help these professionals manage their "companies on wheels", positively impacting their lives and economic performance.

According to the 2019 Truck Drivers' Profile Survey developed by the National Transport Confederation (CNT), around 36% of self-employed drivers are in debt, with 40% of them facing debts of more than R$ 21 thousand. Direção Certa" aims to improve truck drivers' financial management, which can positively influence their health, safety and well-being.

The program, which lasts 80 minutes and is divided into four modules, uses an intuitive and dynamic methodology with videos, audios, texts and interactive tests. In this first phase, access will be limited to 1,000 JSL drivers with a BBC Digital bank account, who will be included in the platform on a monthly basis.

The Julio Simões Institute, founded in 2006, develops socio-cultural projects and supports cultural and social actions throughout Brazil. In 2023, it impacted more than 28,000 people. For more information, visit the website (click here).
