SIMPAR and subsidiaries join the ISE portfolio and receive a B grade from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

Vamos debuts on the B3 Sustainability Index and SIMPAR stands out as one of the business groups with the most listed companies 

São Paulo, January 2023 - With a robust emissions management program and a commitment to identifying challenges and opportunities to reduce socio-environmental impacts in the sectors in which it operates, the SIMPAR - the holding company that manages the JSL, Movida, Vamos, CS Brasil, CS Infra, Automob and BBC Digital brands - with the Movida and Vamos subsidiaries included in the B3 2022/2023 Sustainability Index (ISE).  

Simpar is among the business groups with the most companies listed in the ISE portfolio 

The 18th portfolio of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE B3) brings together 70 publicly traded companies from sectors that are comparatively analyzed in terms of sustainability, taking into account economic efficiency, environmental balance, social justice and governance.  

The SIMPAR holding company is in the portfolio for the 2nd year. Movida, the car rental company with the most modern fleet in the country, is in the portfolio for the 4th consecutive year and Vamos, the market leader in truck, machinery and equipment rental, is in the portfolio for the first time. 

Companies' CDP scores contributed to their entry into the ISE portfolio 

In the group Let's go raised its grade from C to B in 2022. A JSL, the company with the largest logistics portfolio in the country, evolved from -B to B. A Movida together with the holding company SIMPAR maintained their B classification. 

The index scores organizations with grades from "A" (best placed) to "F" (worst placed). SIMPAR and its businesses earned a B grade in this year's evaluation, placing them among the best-placed in the transportation and logistics sectors.  

"We are carrying out in-depth work with all our businesses, seeking to improve the greenhouse gas inventory, and we have also committed to constantly reassessing actions related to the climate risk matrix. We believe that this work has resulted in all the group's companies having a similar and outstanding rating in the sectors in which they operate"says Patrícia Pereira, SIMPAR's sustainability manager. 

The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) is one of the main factors for evaluation in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE), one of the most recognized in the sustainability sector.  

. SIMPAR and its companies have sustainability committees linked to the Board of Directors and with independent members dedicated to continuously monitoring social and environmental actions and indicators, as well as promoting the company's participation in relevant agendas on the subject. "One of the group's pillars is sustainable governance. Translating these socio-environmental management challenges in the country into business opportunities is a commitment of the holding company, which intends to evolve its practices more and more and is aware of its responsibility towards the sectors in which it operates." adds Patricia Pereira. 

In 2021, SIMPAR was on the ISE list and in the same year stood out in other important sustainability indices, such as: Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA); together with its subsidiaries JSL, Vamos, CS Brasil, Movida and Automob receiving the Gold Seal with recognition of the high level of qualification of its corporate inventory - the highest level of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, which quantifies Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
