April 2023 - The Julio Simões Institute, the social arm of SIMPAR, the holding company that controls the JSL, MOVIDA, VAMOS, AUTOMOB, CS Brasil, CS Infra and Banco BBC brands, took the Clown Doctors to the Easter party at Vila Dignidade last Saturday (15), an institution that welcomes around 20 independent, low-income elderly people from Mogi das Cruzes.
The program, inspired by the "clown doctor" technique, trains SIMPAR's volunteer employees as "clown doctors" to work in Long Stay Institutions for the Elderly (ILPIs), such as Vila Dignidade, and hospitals in Mogi das Cruzes and the region. Through the language of circus, the volunteers bring joy, contribute to humanization and promote a fun experience.
The action with the Clown Doctors at Vila Dignidade involved 25 volunteers and aimed to promote interaction through activities and, above all, by listening, one of the greatest needs of the elderly living in the institution, since many of them don't receive visitors. "We do things like this once a month, it's a way of showing hospitality. Having a moment of relaxation, fun, but above all having someone to talk to, contributes to the emotional process of the elderly," says Bia Andari, manager of the Julio Simões Institute.
During the event, which included music, food and drink and lots of fun, a chocolate egg hunt was held, a way of getting the elderly moving and rescuing or creating memories related to the Easter period.
