Julio Simões and SOPA Institutes deliver blankets in Mogi das Cruzes

São Paulo, July 2023.

June 2023 - The arrival of the polar mass this week brought forward the donations from the Julio Simões Institute, the social arm of Simpar - the holding company that controls JSL, Movida, Vamos, CS Brasil, CS Infra, Original Holding and Banco BBC Digital. Together with the SOPA Institute (Sociedade Organizada Pão que Alimenta), this Thursday (19), starting at 19h00, company volunteers will deliver more than 300 blankets to homeless people in the central region of the city of Mogi das Cruzes.

The blankets will be donated during the institute's soup run SOPA. "Our aim is to support care and minimize the impact of the cold weather on the homeless. This action has been carried out since last year with the participation of employees from all Simpar companies, who make their donations and create a great chain of solidarity every year" says Bia Andari, manager of the Julio Simões Institute.

The action is part of the Winter for Good CampaignThe Julio Simões Institute has been collecting blankets, coats and clothes every year since 2021, based on donations from employees of the Simpar Group companies. Last year, the action benefited around 2,500 people from dozens of organizations.

Donations are made through collection points set up at various Simpar operations throughout Brazil. This year, the Winter for Good campaign takes place between May 16 and June 10. All the items collected will be sent to partner social institutions. In Mogi das Cruzes and Itaquaquecetuba, specifically, delivery will be carried out by volunteer employees who will go to the communities with the support and coordination of the Julio Simões Institute.
