Movida (MOVI3) has a net profit of R$ 78.5 million in the 1st quarter, the highest in the last 2 years

São Paulo, May 2025.

The company broke records in revenue and Ebitda in the quarter

Movida (MOVI3), the car rental company of the Simpar Group (SIMH3), recorded a net profit of R$ 78.5 million in the first quarter of 2025, up 61.5% compared to the same period in 2024. The profit broke a record and was the highest figure in the last two years for Movida.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda) were R$ 1.388 billion in 1Q25, up 26.3% year-on-year. The Ebitda margin on the company's total net revenue in the period was 37.5%, up 2.4 percentage points when compared to the 1Q24 line. Net revenue was up 18.1%, at R$ 3.568 billion, also a record for the company.

Movida ended the quarter with a total fleet of 257,000 cars and sales of 25,000 cars in the first quarter of the year, with R$ 1.7 billion in net revenue in the Used Car segment.

Leverage, measured by the ratio of net debt to EBITDA, fell for another quarter, to 3.07 times, a reduction of 0.12 times. The indicator has fallen for the third consecutive quarter, reflecting efforts to discipline execution and reduce car payments to automakers.

The line is one of Movida's main liabilities and was reduced by R$ 1.8 billion due to the cash disbursement related to the concentration of car purchases in the fourth quarter of 2024, due to the high seasonality. Half of the payment that was made in the first quarter will be made in the second, so the payment schedule should bring lower amounts.
