The company released its results on Thursday evening
Simpar (SIMH3), a holding company that includes names such as Vamos (VAMO3), Movida (MOVI3) and Automob (AMOB3), released its results on Thursday evening, 8. The company posted an adjusted net profit of R$ 26 million in 1Q25, down from R$ 90 million in the first quarter of 2024.
"I think we have the opportunity here to deliver, even with the rise in interest rates, on various fronts, in various businesses," says Denys Ferrez, Simpar's CFO. The drop, according to the material, is related to a fall in net profit at both JSL and Vamos, although Movida's profit rose sharply. Automob, meanwhile, posted a stronger loss, at R$ 35 million, compared to the R$ 5 million attributed to the company in the first quarter of 2024.
"JSL has made a move to balance its contracts, bringing the margin back to a normalized level, so this should benefit the company going forward," he says.
The company showed progress in the other main lines of the balance sheet, with a 20% rise in adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda), at R$ 2.9 billion.
Gross revenue, in turn, stood at R$ 8.4 billion in the quarter, up 16% year-on-year.
"In October, we made a plan that focused on achieving efficiency and capturing results from what had been built. The proof of this is the net investment we made in this first quarter, which amounted to R$ 723 million," he says. The executive points out that, at other times in the company's history, net investment exceeded EBITDA by up to twice or more. Now, the annualization of the figure shows Ebitda four times higher than net investment.
