São Paulo, August 2024.

Free distance learning for driving professionals provides guidance on financial management and how to improve truck performance to avoid extra costs and unscheduled downtime

São Paulo, July 2024 - The Julio Simões Institute, the social arm of SIMPAR Group launches the Right Direction, a program dedicated to the financial education of drivers. Developed by Julio Simões Institute, part of the SIMPAR GroupThe contents detail expert advice on managing freight money, truck maintenance, purchasing inputs and other forms of management of this company called truckand which are part of the lives of thousands of self-employed professionals throughout Brazil.

According to data from the 2019 CNT Truck Driver Profile Survey, approximately 36% of self-employed drivers admit to being in debt. Delving deeper into this scenario, it turns out that 40% of these professionals with debts deal with amounts that exceed R$ 21 thousand. O Right Direction is here to help train truck drivers to manage their finances, which in turn positively influences various aspects of their lives, including health, safety and well-being.

"Truck drivers manage a very valuable asset, both financially and economically," says Bia Andari, manager of the Julio Simões Institute. A complete set with a mechanical horse and a 3-axle trailer that has been used for three years, for example, depending on the model, has an average market value of R$ 350,000 to 600,000 reais, higher than many other businesses run by small entrepreneurs. "Managing these companies is fundamental to ensuring the profitability and quality of life of these professionals, as well as contributing to productivity gains and the country's economy," adds Andari.

With a total duration of 80 minutes, distributed over 4 modules, the content is presented in a clear and uncomplicated way with an intuitive and dynamic methodology, combining videos, audios and short texts with interactive tests. Both the platform and the lessons are adapted to meet the needs of truck drivers who spend most of their time on the road, allowing the content to be consumed in small doses, at the user's pace. In this first stage, access will be exclusive to 1,000 of the company's aggregate drivers. JSL who have a bank account BBC Digitaland will be loaded onto the platform on a monthly basis.
