Mogi das Cruzes, October 26, 2023 - In the month of awareness for the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer, the SIMPAR - holding company that controls the companies JSL, Movida, Vamos, CS Infra, CS Brasil, Automob e BBC Digital Bank - together with NGO Cabelegriais promoting an initiative to encourage the donation of hair to make wigs for women and children undergoing cancer treatment.
The activity will take place on Thursday 26th at the company's administrative headquarters in Mogi das Cruzes (SP), where hair will be cut and donated. The minimum size for donation is 20 centimeters and hair with or without chemicals (dye, bleaching, etc.) is accepted. Those who don't reach the minimum size can donate the cost of the haircut to the NGO. Another option is to donate scarves, which will also be given to the charity.
The Simpar with the Cabelegria has been running since 2013. The NGO collects hair, makes wigs and donates them to people undergoing cancer treatment. The action is carried out through the website www.cabelegria.org.
"Encouraging the active participation of our employees in social causes is the best way to draw attention to the relevance of issues such as breast cancer prevention and to promote empathy for these themes, as well as facilitating access to volunteering and relationships with the community," says Paula Pedrão, communications and sustainability director at Simpar.
