Simpar joins B3's ISE portfolio

Holding company joins one of the most recognized sustainability indexes on the market

São Paulo, September 2021.

Simpar - the holding company that controls JSL, Movida, Vamos, CS Brasil, CS Infra, Original and BBC Leasing & Conta Digital - is now part of the 17th portfolio of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE B3), in a report released today. The company is the only holding company in the logistics and transportation sector to be included in B3's ISE Portfolio.

This year, the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) presented a portfolio of 45 publicly traded companies from 28 sectors, comparatively analyzed in terms of sustainability, taking into account economic efficiency, environmental balance, social justice and governance. "Being recognized for sustainability principles together with the largest Brazilian companies reinforces our focus on management and operations sustainable, capable of generating value for our business and society"says Patrícia Pereira, Simpar's sustainability manager.

In 2021, the holding company stood out with a B rating in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), which contributed to Simpar's inclusion in the ISE portfolio, and in other important sustainability indicators such as the Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), in which it scored 51.

In addition, SIMPAR was certified with the highest level of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, which quantifies greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The holding company, along with JSL, Vamos, CS Brasil, Movida and Original Concessionárias, received the Gold Seal, which recognizes a corporate inventory with a high level of qualification according to the data provided by the organizations.

"The group has the principle of sustainable governance as one of its great differentiators. Translating the challenges of socio-environmental management in the country into business opportunities is a commitment of the holding company, which aims to evolve its sustainable practices every day and is aware of its responsibility towards the sectors in which it operates," said Patricia Pereira.

Simpar was the first in our sector in the world to issue the Sustainability-Linked Bond (January/21) and has been a signatory of the UN Global Compact since 2014. It is also committed to 15% emissions intensity by 2030, including scope 3 (suppliers). "To make all this happen, the group and its subsidiaries have a sustainability committee to continuously monitor socio-environmental actions and indicators and participate in agendas with the main institutions debating the issue," adds Patrícia.
