The S&P Global Yearbook ranks SIMPAR, Movida and Vamos. In addition, the new CDP assessment raises Movida's rating
São Paulo, February 2024 -A holding SIMPAR and its subsidiaries Movida and Vamos were recognized among the most sustainable companies in the world by the Sustainability Yearbook Member, of S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2024.
All three companies are present in the Transport and Transport Infrastructure. The yearbook, published by S&P Global, one of the largest companies in the ratings the world, highlights the companies with the best corporate sustainability performance in their respective sectors. The evaluation is based on Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA)a questionnaire that analyzes the sustainable practices of companies around the world.
To be included in the yearbook, companies need to have a performance that is at least among the 15% best in their respective sector. In this cycle, 9,400 companies were evaluated and only 759 were included in the report due to their high performance.
. SIMPAR, a Brazilian holding company that controls seven companies operating in the logistics, mobility, sanitation, concessions and financial services sectors with independent management and operations, was already in the ranking last year. This year its score was raised to 61 out of 100.
The Movida, the car rental company with the newest and most modern fleet in Brazil, maintained its score of 63 out of 100. A Let's go, leader in the truck, machinery and equipment rental market, with more than 40,000 vehicles rented in the country, and with a wide network of dealerships and used-vehicle stores, appeared in the ranking for the first time this year, with a score of 59 out of 100.
"The results reflect the alignment of our sustainability strategies with those of our businesses and our commitment, as a holding company, to contribute to sustainable development in each of our companies, including monitoring the implementation and adoption of high governance and socio-environmental practices that contribute to the continuous evolution of this agenda throughout the group," explains Paula Pedrão, Simpar's communications and sustainability director.
SIMPAR, JSL and Vamos maintain their good rating at CDP, while Movida raises its score
This year SIMPAR and its subsidiaries JSL and Vamos maintained their B rating within the feedback from the CDP (Carbon Disclosure Project)Movida's score was raised to A-, which is proof of the company's collective efforts on the sustainability fronts.
O CDP is an international non-profit organization that is considered to be the financial sector's main initiative in terms of mitigating climate change. According to Felipe Zito, Movida's sustainability manager, Movida's A- score in the CDP is the result of a combination of actions in the environmental, social and governance fields. "We have built a transversal approach that enables us to advance the ESG agenda continuously, with multiple actions, such as electrifying the fleet, encouraging customers to use ethanol and adopting solar energy in stores," explains Mr. Zito.
The organization acts as a corporate database for companies and cities, measuring, disclosing, managing and sharing environmental information related to climate change and other aspects of sustainable management. The feedback provided by CDP is generated in the form of scores, with the intention of encouraging organizations to improve their climate governance and helping investors integrate the issue into their decision-making. These scores are made up of four fronts: disclosure, awareness, management and leadership.
The presence of SIMPAR and its subsidiaries in this ranking only reinforces the collective work of the company and its brands towards ESG actions and changes based on transparency, quality and relevance to the market and society as a whole.
Sustainability at SIMPAR and its subsidiaries

Furthermore, in 2020, Movida was the first car rental company on the planet to issue a Sustainability-Linked Bond (SLB) with a commitment to reducing emissions intensity. In addition, Movida is the first rental company in America to have its emissions reduction targets recognized by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
Movida's main sustainability initiatives include encouraging the use of ethanol, a biofuel that is less polluting than gasoline, in its operations and by customers; the use of solar panels in 58 stores and the electrification of its fleet.
The business strategy of Let's go is based on ESG principles. Sustainability plays an essential role in the business, integrating the entire group chain and creating added value for all the company's products and services. Today Vamos has expanded its range of electrical equipment. The company stocks more than 130 electric trucks available for rental, as well as 29 powered by biogas and 2,685 electric forklifts, making it the leader in the rental of electric equipment for intralogistics.
In addition, Vamos has created the first electric 100% mobile workshop capable of servicing all types of vehicles. Vamos is also committed to acting as one of the protagonists in the decarbonization process. Since 2021, Vamos Carbono Zero has offered customers opportunities to offset carbon emissions, contributing to the reduction and neutralization of greenhouse gas emissions. Vamos has already neutralized all scope 1 and 2 emissions since 2019. Vamos Carbono Zero operates in scope 3 of the sustainability plan and allows customers to lease their fleet with neutralization included.
